Soaked Saturday

Today the Tiny Mites took one step closer to another Super Bowl win. We had to travel to Towns County to take on Fannin County in the first round of the playoffs. It was wet, muddy, and just a mess. The field was horrible and the boys were filthy after the first play of the game. Seth was  one of the captains of the game. The Tiny Mites prevailed 19-0 and will play Union County this Saturday at home for the North championship. Go Wildcats!

After the game was  over, we headed home and waited for Uncle Craig, Aunt Carol, and Keely to arrive. We watched the Georgia/Florida game, ate hot wings, and had a fun afternoon. Seth, Keely, and Luke decorated a haunted house and then dressed in their costumes. Unfortunately, the rain didn't let up for us to go on the hay ride and trick or treat. We still had lots of candy and fun together.

Fabulous Fun Friday

Today was my turn to help with Fabulous Fun Friday at Luke's school. We had such fun. I read Stellaluna to the class and then they colored and pasted bat shapes onto paper. We then put black paint on their hands and they made hand prints for the bat's wings. Too cute! Afterwards, we had to have one of my famous M&M cookies, complete with Halloween colors.

Since tomorrow is Halloween, the Pre-K students were allowed to dress up as a storybook character. Luke, of course, was Jeff Gordon. No, he's not a storybook character, but we do have a Jeff Gordon book. So, that makes it okay.

It has been a Fabulous Fun Friday for sure!

What a weekend!

Today is mine and Steve's 12th wedding anniversary. We were so fortunate to be able to get away and go to Buckhead Saturday night. Mom and Dad came up to watch the boys so we could go. Seth had a football game Saturday. They put another hurt on Pickens County, winning 32-0. We got rained on for a minute, but then it cleared up and we were able to watch the game without our umbrellas.

After the game, we got cleaned up and headed to Atlanta. It was kind of odd not having the car full of kids, but we managed anyway. He and I were staying at the Ritz-Carlton. The front desk clerk upgraded us to a deluxe king suite since it was our anniversary. It was really nice.

We took some time to visit Lenox Square Mall. For dinner we went to Morten's Steak House. Oh my word! It was out of this world. We had the steak and seafood dinner for two. We were so stuffed once we left. Caeser salad, filet mignon, scallops wrapped in bacon, baked potato, and chocolate lava cake with coffee. I have never had a dinner so good. It will be hard to come back to reality after that one. After dinner, we went to Target! A girl's got to go to Target whenever she can!

But we had a really nice trip. Thanks for Mom and Dad for watching the boys while we were gone. They enjoyed having McDonald's and Kentucky Fried Chicken while were out of town. Tomorrow is Fall Break and no school. Praying that they can go outside and run off some energy.

Busy, busy, busy!

If we're not dodging raindrops, or chasing footballs, we are busy doing something.

It has been another full week of football. Caleb had a game in Union County Thursday night. He was one of the captains, but unfortunately it did not help. They did not win and had to make the long trip back to Rabun in the quiet. Friday night's game wasn't much better. It was Homecoming and a young lady from Caleb's youth group won the crown. The Wildcats couldn't put away North Oconee though. Saturday's fate was a bit better for the Wildcats. We had to travel to Gilmer County (again) to take on the Bobcats. The Tiny Mites proved too much for the opponents, again. Seth's team won 44-0. That makes them 6-0 on the year. This weekend, the little Wilcats play at home, thankfully.

We did make the long trip to Elijay worthwhile though. We picked up a peck of Gala apples. The boys have already eaten many apples and peanut butter or apples and warm caramel dip. Yum! I also picked up a peck of Arkansas Black for Dad. He can't get them in Thomasville and they make delicious apple pies!

We had a visit this afternoon from some high school friends of mine, Anne and Michael Quick, along with their kids, Katelyn and Lane. Seth and Lane had a great time playing together and we enjoyed catching up with them. Looking forward to seeing them again soon.

Looking forward to a short week of school, as Fall Break begins Thursday afternoon. Enjoying the cool air and the changing of the leaves.
